At the lab, our research focuses on providing knowledge on the recovery of valuable products from bioresources by exploring the scientific and engineering aspect of the technologies for converting them into fuels, materials and specialty chemicals.

Mission:
The vision of the lab is pursued via the following mission statements:
- To promote innovative research in the area of natural products synthesis, environmental pollution mitigation and renewable energy deployment in a circular economy system involving bioresources valorization.
- To serve as a platform for collaborative research efforts fostering impact-based interaction between academia, industry and government.
Research
The lab’s research is generally focused on the conversion of waste biomass such as forest residues, agricultural wastes and other wastes to value added products. We prosecute this focus under the following selected research themes.

This is the third reaction engineering course taken as part of the five year chemical engineering undergraduate program. It is taken during the first semester of final year.

We accomplish our goal through collaborative work with researchers at varying levels of research experiences. We work with final year undergraduate students (through the final year research projects), undergraduate research interns (second to fourth year students), graduate research assistants (who have completed at least one university degree), postgraduate research students at Masters and PhD levels and more accomplished researchers through cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary research.
